I'd go conform with that. Imho still the easiest to learn and fastest to get an result.
But it is becoming a gloriefied Plugin Hub.
Don't get me wrong i welcome the Houdini and Realflow pipelines, but C4D needs a serious update on its basics. Medelling/Texturing/Unwrapping/Scripting + everything else.
Maxon got seriously kicked in the face by vocal angry (ex-)customers after their R17 release, and i hope it will have an effect. They said that they'll listen and working on the core, but many users are still doubtful.
