Usually that's the case, wanting to know if you should be impressed that someone made a certain thing for basically scratch, or whether a computer fucking did it all by doing a full scan.
Megascans doesn't do geometry, it's just surface maps for different things. Like the texture of a bunch of leaf surfaces or some clear dirt without other stuff in it. These megascans are then layered to create environments with more life.
