My scene is just way too dark and I can't figure out what's causing it! You can see on the preview that it's blindingly bright, and yet it's super greyed out. Can someone give me a hand with this?

You haven't really given us much to work with, yes you have have an emission source at 50.00 but where is it? . . .How big is it? . . and what texture have you got on that circular floor area?

I would turn off Ambient Occlusion, keep one light source and use a preview of about 3-10 passes in cycles, so you can see what is happening in real-time!

I will also add that your set up for the light is over complicated, you only need an emission shader connected to output!

I'm betting your light source is too small. It's something people new to Cycles usually trip up on.

Either use an actual lamp object of some sort or scale up your light sources.
