Yeah, would be amazing to see stuff like that again from KyoAni. Full frontal nudity and lots of bloodshed, good times. On the other hand I could understand if they protect their established "core competency" for now, but I saw promising steps in KnK (with characters being manipulated to actually try to kill each other) for more serious stuff in the future when they hopefully have grown enough to take a more diverse approach.

KyoAni didn't even bother finishing Inuyasha, a series more popular than FMP.

If we follow trends then Sunrise is doing the next FMP. They already employ the mech designer that did all the FMP mechs.

With Thunderbolt being announced as 2D are they even going to have enough of their 2D guys available for it. Also it being Sunrise will cause all Western interest to be lost in this because people dont care about it for the mecha or series itself, they're in it for the Kyoani wank potential

Good one m8. FMP was popular before KyoAni started doing it and just got more popular after that. Most people outside of /a/ won't give a fuck and there will definitely be people on /a/ watching it when it airs. It may not be as big because of KyoAni which is fine because we don't need shitposting.

I don't know how much they care about the West anyway considering that the last time there was an FMP series ADV was still a thing and they're pretty much responsible for the collapse of the Western anime market right as it is was looking like anime might just catch on a little as a trend.

Eh, Gatoh is confirmed to be writing so the adaptation from a writing sense is secure. Ito mentioned the people working on the series are familiar with it so we're not getting complete novices. I'm fairly confident Horuichi will be back for Char designs, Ebikawa pretty much confirmed he's doing mech designs again. Just the studio itself and director will be big question marks but I have faith in Gatoh.

I'm sorry but Haru looks awkward there. If it was Nagisa, he'd be striking a cutesy pose looking straight at the viewer like the girls are. Haru looks completely out of place. And Nagisa's face is more similar to the girls, too.
