Bear asked me why I don't rate.
It's because of 2 reasons.
1. There is no point in time when I would feel my rating would be accurate to the experience. After I finished it, my reason would be clouded by the ending - either making the rating much higher or lower. If I waited some time after finishing it, I would forget character interaction, plot points, or even the characters themselves.
2. The usual 1-10 scale is far too restricting. Every single time I would rate an anime, I would have to compare it with every other show which I rated with the same number, to make sure it holds up. No, scratch that, I would have to compare it with every single show, even the ones with higher or lower rating, to make sure the rating is accurate. Then I would be reevaluating past shows, feeling they really don't deserve the rating I had given them in the past. This leads to point 1.
In short, rating anime sucks balls. Of the 400 shows, I rated only 5 of them - with rating 10. Those are my favorite anime, which I rewatched several times.
