Best fantasy light novel I read. And it won 3 place in the sugoi light novel 2013. Read the LN then anime or if you want to get your ass hurt then anime then LN. Anime follows closely to LN but anime watchers had their blue balls from watching it and it ended with the first volume ending and people raged. 4 volumes translated atm.

Why does everyone claim that the writing style of OnC is so unbearable by the way? Sure, it's simple and not very vivid, but it didn't bother me even when reading the 1-A prologue everyone seems to whine about. Even its dryness feels thought out a lot of the time.

Particularly Brave Story since it's a take on transported fantasy too. And its take is glorious. The villain is basically your typical ruthless MC doing everything he can including sacrificing the princess that likes him just to fulfill his mission.

I'm still amused how it was aimed for kids, especially on the way it ended.

It's pretty damn progressive in the way that it ended without a Disney happy ending. But it's sad too. It means we really are accepting that lots of kids may end up with divorced parents
