Ok we all know that Universe 6 was theorized to be Future Trunks timeline. Then Whis or whoever said that Earth was destroyed in Universe 6. BUT THIS DOESN'T NECESSARILY MEAN IT ISN'T FUTURE TRUNKS' TIMELINE! Did they ever state when and how Earth 6 was destroyed? It could have happened AFTER Trunks returned to his time. Maybe after Trunks returned and killed 17+18+Imperfect Cell, a new threat he couldn't handle on his own showed up and blew up the Earth.

TLDR: If this is true Future Trunks is DEAD. And will never be seen again.

It still can be Trunk's timeline, though I don't know how much sense that'd make as that would mean Trunks created a universe on his own? What of the other timeline in which both him and Cell are dead?

However, as far as there "not being any humans", canonically, there were only tens of thousands of humans left by the time the Androids were done and "they lived in underground bunkers".

The special is considered canon, but the anime wasn't written by Toriyama.

Anyways i think the Alternative Characters are a Timeline only thing.
I think considering Champa an alternative version of Beerus is a mistake, they even have different names, also they are gods, we dont know how they works. Probably many things are different in the other universes, even in the Twin Universes.

Although I believe that of that were the case then the other goku and vegeta wouldn't be stronger than white frieza meaning they are shit and wouldn't even be worth a fight.
