Evolutionary the belief of good slowly merged with what we now call god, though deeply everything is good in its own regard, and thus connected to "god". Edible leaves in caves, christmas trees and smoking weed in your mothers basement all interact with some of the genes regulsting those specifically determined " good" mechanisms, though some intelligence may lie deeper in the mechanisms of genes and DNA. Like, life isn't basically infinite in possibilities, since we got some physical limits in every kind of life or cell out there.
