In the case of girls I like, well it depends on if I just like them or characters, or if I'm going in for a bit of the vicarious, waifu-style liking.
When it's a girl I would've liked myself, I'll admit to a bit of possessiveness, and not quite liking seeing them without another man(the MC tends to be an audience surrogate).
It depends on the time scale of the series, if little time passes in its universe, then I don't really want to see them with another guy any time soon.
However, if a lot of fictional time passes, then I prefer them to move on early, as I can't stand seeing them not being treated as the MC's equal, or seeing them spend years of their lives pining for him.
