The story is cliche, or at least it started really cliche. Maybe it will change dunno but it's not something I would call good, decent at best.
But yes, it's mostly because shonen manga is not for /a/ yet /a/ still believes it's aimed at them, Bleach, Naruto, One Piece. None of those are aimed for grown ups, they're for kids. So the problems /a/ has with shonen manga doesn't matter at all.
