Does anyone else think that Evangelion is totally overrated?

It was literally Mazinger mixed with Devilman and Ideon.

Nothing original or well executed at all.

That's literally what it took the most from. The Evas are essentially Ultramen with holes drilled in their head so that humans can control them, the Ultraman time limit included. NERV is the SSSP.

Considering how big an Ultraman fanboy Anno is it's probably his fanfiction from highschool.
