>>132811615>I really got the feeling from F/SN and F/HA that Nasu just makes shit up as he goes alongHe doesnt. If there is one thing he does well is create an extremely rich setting and universe. One in which he goes to great lengths to set up established rules but also goes out to subvert those rules when possible. He establishes a reality in his universe and then creates stories and characters that break and twist that reality.
For example, he has really fleshed out over multiple franchises and character materials the kind of world that modern Mages live in and their general goals, culture, taboos etcetc but he makes it clear that those mages are really out of touch with reality which is why someone like Kiritsugu can easily kill mages since they are expecting a grand, honorable magic battle and he just shoots them in the face.
