Killing Kiseki is the CORRECT decision. She wants to die, being under the care of the Inquisition is worse than death, and leaving her outside of the care of the Inquisition is just begging for a mass extinction event to happen. How does a poison factory like Nero keep a hackjob homunculus alive longer than it could have survived on its own? This is the only Harem I didn't drop this season. They all seem like the story doesn't go anywhere and are too tame Ecchi wise anyway. Antimagic has potential.

I'm sorry about the cockteases that most Ecchi/Harems have are so watered down and tame that it needs interesting characters/premise/story to get me hooked.

I don't understand why this show is bombing so hard and everyone is saying it's shit. I think it's the best battle harem I've seen in a while tbh. Although I guess that's not saying much since most are shit. However, It actually manages to be interesting to some degree and has a fair amount of action to offset the harem elements. I guess people just see the edgy/chuuni style stuff and get turned off instantly.

Objectively from a non-LNfag perspective, it felt like they drew a Venn diagram of all the highschool magic battle harem stories, took the points where they all overlap, made a checklist of these points, then tried to see how many check boxes they could tick in a single episode.
The only thing it had to set it apart from Asterisk and Rakudai is its rather dull color palette.

It was the only one of the three to not introduce a sandbox tournament, have MC walk in on a girl changing, and have its first episode be completely focused on that MC and that girl fighting. Its harem was almost fully complete when it started, and it was way edgier.

I don't feel that swordfight had enough speed behind it. Felt too sluggish. Not enough battle damage inflicted on one another either. Possibly because it was all CGI and adding battle damage to a 3D model takes effort.

In the other two, the tournament is nothing but the story. In Antimagic, both 'tournaments' we've had so far hasn't swallowed up the plot completely. It's just a thing that happens to be relevant for an episode or two.

I'm not saying it was a 'better' first episode, because yes it was generic overall. But it wasn't the same as Asterisk or Rakudai.

Liked the first 3 episodes but this episode was pretty shit.. Fucking Haunted and Takeru just having a staredown for ten fucking minutes while trying to quickly throw in Mari's backstory as it's happening. Think that could have been managed better. Fight itself was dull as well and barely had any movement.

This episode felt kind of rushed. Not sure where the anime is heading with the plot now, but honestly I feel that it just went from "Hero" to "Zero" in a sense. If I had to compare the fourth episodes of Rakudai, Asterisk, and this, it would go Rakudai >Asterisk >Anti-Magic.

Rakudai's climactic fight had a lot of energy in it and some great choreography. Asterisk's had lower stakes and the enemies were just faceless robots, but it had the best actual animation. This was just a lethargic clusterfuck of CGI.

If I had to guess though it's starting to feel like one of those shows. The ones where the MC saves each girl from despair of some sort in a brief arc focusing on the girl, and at the end of each girl's arc they join his harem. Rinse and repeat.

Anyone else kinda don't know where the show is going? I get that they are trying to fight witches, but I still don't feel as if there is any real plot or objective for the main characters.

Back in episode 2 Haunted was trying to initiate some sort of witch prison break. He doesn't seem to be trying too hard to do that this episode though, he just shows up and wrecks the place for no real reason.

Well pick the LNs, the first few are okay, and they slowly improve until you get to Vol 5 which is great and from there on you are in for a wild ride. The anime is skipping on the exposition, and not explaining stuff like the Inquisition fought a war against witches, how the world was blown up during the war and you kind of lose some of the feel for the setting. It's not the same hearing Mari talk about how she wants Witches to be accepted when you don't know how bad they have it.

The chuuni is okay, they do fight crazy mecha dragons, have elves, recite latin to become Kamen Riders, but it's not worse than what you see in the anime.

It feels like watching a recap. Like this is the most honest way to make a LN adaptation, since it's just a commercial anyway, might as well direct it like a quick recap of LN events instead of a well-paced standalone anime.

That's ultimately what most LN adaptations are, and it's why original anime works have such a higher chance of being genuinely good because they were made for that medium (and then you have stuff like Comet Lucifer)

For an LN adaptation to be good as an anime, you basically have to adapt almost nothing and make it talking heads like Rokka or Monogatari.

Sealing Sougetsu reminds me of Hitogami from Mushoku Tensei, sounds like the most likely conclusion (assuming the author doesn't make Sougetsu win and kill everyone off).
