Is there any anime/manga about Buddhism, or which directly explores Buddhist themes? I just watched Princess Kaguya yesterday and it was awesome. A lot of anime draws from Shinto mythology which has some overlap with Buddhist mythology. I find the folklore and deities to be really interesting along with the doctrines. You'll find references to Buddhism here and there, but is there any stuff in which it's the central theme?
