>>132872926you don't understand what I'm talking about. I'm not defending drugs. I've known around five people who did coke, some of the most annoying people I ever saw. This is about the context that you lack.
I'm not saying japan should go all lax on drugs, especially people who sell them, but going this far against a user just makes them look draconian and pedantic
Jimmy Seville raped countless children and deserves to be stricken from all records. He personally harmed countless kids and caused immeasurable pain. He would deserve any treatment if he was still alive
Now compare her to this seiyลซ. What did she do really, expect harming herself? She never promoted this sort of behavior, she never sold the stuff (maybe she did, but then she would've been also charged with distribution by now) yet she's treated like some sort of immoral monster. The worst she did was give some of her money to people who probably ended up giving that profit to some sort of criminal organization, like the yakuza /triads/whatever, a profit so tiny to them that you can't even claim that it made any difference to them. IF she sold hard drugs, then I could behind this extreme reaction, but for buying coke herself? That is truly ludicrous
>Drugs can destroy entire societiesYes, I've read about the opium wars, I know what ghettos are. But what does that have to do with her? She didn't do shit do anyone except herself, she didn't harm society, she was involved in what is probably her own little circle of friends and/or associates that even got her that stuff
No matter how you look at it, economically or individually, this is an overly extreme reaction
You can make a stand against drugs without going apeshit
