I just watched 3 episodes of this (the 2012 series that covers part 1 and 2?) and I have to ask....does it get better? Obviously it must, since I only hear good things about it, but damn it's just not great right now, wouldn't even have given it a chance if I didn't know how much people love it. I admit I laughed at scenes that were overly dramatic, like when Dio kicked Jojo's dog, and when they were fighting and Dio was like "I completely forgot! The more you beat him, the tougher he gets!" (as if that's actualluy a thing) One of the bad things is the animation, which is horrendous, so I'm considering switching to the manga, But I just wanna know, when does it get good? Unless people usually love it right from the get-go and i'm the weird one.

I'm reading through part 5 on Batoto and I've reached Duwang territory. Just finished Buccellati's first fight with King Crimson. Is there anywhere I can get a better translation and dodge Duwang for a bit longer or do I just have to take Duwang's beautiful duwang in the ass?

This really upsets me. I hate when fanarts portray Johnny with a feminine physiognomy, with an effeminate face, thin arms, wide hips and painted nails. If his ability is shoot his nails, why would he paint them? And, he was a paraplegic in the 19th century, he would never have thin arms because he should at least be able to lift the weight of his own body with just one arm (and, in the end of part 7 you can see Johnny carrying Gyro's corpse with just one arm, someone with thin arms would never be able to do this). He wasn't muscular, though, but he didn't have such an effeminate physiognomy like some fanarts depict.

Bodies were a mess, but part 2-early 3 has my favorite faces after 7 and 8's. They no longer look swollen like in 1, but there's none of those weird rabbity nose lines that started showing up midway through 3. Plus Lisa Lisa and Suzy Q looked fucking great.

It's easy to forget because of the returning character re-reveals being treated as a big thing too, but EOH doesn't seem to have very many newcomers.

Parts 5 and onwards are kinda getting shafted. You'd think it's because of them focusing on the anime parts but even ASB gave part 4 Shigechi and one more Kira than was needed.

I'm sure there will be a second character from Part 8, this is a tag battle game after all. Yasuho has had plenty of exposure, so I think they could do a moveset for her. And she's the second most important character so far.

Joshuu has done too little to deserve being in the game. He could be if they wanted more than two characters, but I'd have prefered Yotsuyu or Norisuke in that case.

Pretty much everyone will agree that Part 1 is the weakest part. Not that many intersting characters (even though Speedwagon stands out), not that many interesting story elements, and the writing is generally pretty lacking. Part 1 is important to go through, though, because it's a prequel to Part 3 and Dio has an influence on every part that comes after Part 1.

Part 2 amps up the bizareness the title promises, by being about a New Yorker an Italian and a Nazi Commander fighting against 10000 year old Aztec body builders. Even so, don't worry too much about the writing, JoJo is about the spectacle; watching cool characters do cool shit.

It gets better around the part where Dio becomes a 「Vampire」. If not, try your luck with Part 2 already, but you should at least go through part 1 so you can understand the rest of it.

It defintely gets better as the story advances.

Why can't I find the dvd that has the English dub in it?

Trying to get some friends into this, and due to one being blind, it has to have an english dub. Yet everywhere I look, all I see are announcements that it's "due to come out in July 2015", and haven't found a damn thing on the dvd itself.

On the topic of the overly dramatic moment, do most of you only laugh at those? Seems like anytime I watch something with overly dramatic stuff in with someone they only laugh at it, but for me I find it humorous but at the same time it always hypes me the fuck up. Even when it's done mostly for the comedic value I still find myself getting pumped up about it.

Like for example, the fixing spaghetti scene is absolutely ridiculous, but I was still on the edge of my seat wondering if it was actually going to be a Stand or not.
