How did Angel Beats get such a ridiculous amount of popularity?
Just watching it for the first time and it's incredibly mediocre. All the characters are stock characters, the jokes are unoriginal, and all the plot is full of holes with forced drama everywhere.
I mean, it's palatable but how did it become one of the most popular anime series ever released? Was there some really good marketing for it or what?
