>>132917694>>132917786It's a lot of necessary exposition (if you watch it a second time, there's a lot of "Oh, that information was important, how did I miss that for half the series?" bits in it) and if we're going to complain about pacing, we would talk about how cramming all that information into the time block they put it in was too short or too long or not enough information, not that it took 20 minutes.
Pacing was fine.
People are bad at English and usually say "pacing sucks" when they actually mean "I wanted more action". Nisioisin is a notorious troll and trolls the readers non-stop in all his works while still delivering on content but that's why it's so good because he does it well.
Same goes for the rest of the show. A lot of people complain that the fights are too short because they want more action but when you ask them how they could've made the fights longer, they draw a blank because all they can think about are stalling tactics like DBZ style powerups or longer conversations with generic fighting. The fights in Katanagatari are great because they are succinct and to the point. The boss rush at the end and especially the Entou Jyuu fight was basically the longest and action-y any Katanagatari fight could have hoped to be but we wouldn't care about 11 fights being like that or more than one of these fights per episode on every episode. The show set out to do a specific thing and it did it well. If you don't like the show's format and execution, that's great, there's not really much to discuss then
which is why I think people getting mad and trying to "convince" people to like it is dumb.

Every time Togame tried to seduce him or drop subtle hints, he'd never get it and she gives up. e.g. Outo Nokogiri
