>>132928315>>132928315I do appreciate the cloak and dagger plot Asterisk has, but that is not the main focus of the thing so it doesn't show as much, it's something that is in the background and I feel didn't come as good as it could have. I mean I liked the idea of having that guy be the villain, but since he was never properly introduced it feels like cheating you know, like having the butler be the mastermind in a detective novel.
I do understand that Asterisk is setting up the setting do do the plot properly, but I just feel that it took a long time to finish the first arc, three eps might have been enough (and yes, I would also make the same critique to Rakudai, but I feel ep 4 ended more strongly than Asterisk did with the fight, specially since the plot was more straight foward).
I guess we should also consider that Rakudai has it's MC be more open about his past and his inner troubles, in a way half the time I am not sure how to read the Asterisk except that he cares about Jullis and is being manipulated to join the battle for his sister. I mean these things work, but I don't can't connect with him that well, and I can't help but blame the show for making him look a bit bland.
>>132928464No, I am saying that to me the "power of love" is at the same tier than "my true power is sealed" as both are cliches that are honestly a bit annoying.
