If Sorey sacrificed himself, probably not, but if he was murdered, seems pretty likely. At the very least he'd go full Dezel mode.

Mikleo is a much better character than Rei loli version, friendly assassin and boring as fuck princess.
Lailah is a cute waifu and she's fun on ocassions.

Mikleo and Zaveid are the best characters.

Still Sorey is the best character in the game, he's a huge moralfag but he's cool.

I feel like I was spoiled by Vesperia being my first Tales game.

The characters were great. The story was alright. And the battle system was good.

None of the other Tales games I've played have been able to do all 3 as well as Vesperia did it 7 years ago

It was a high point for the series before they got lazy making the games (they even said themselves Vesperia was too much work so have some half-assed shit from now on) and started jewing things out with the DLC. Vesperia had a ton of great costumes for free, these days it's most palette swaps and the rest is paid DLC.

It's speculation mostly based on the fact that some emblems on Berseria material are from Zestiria. True or not it's possible considering how Zestiria only takes place on a single continent and how Sorey is asleep for a long time after Zestiria's end so who knows what shenanigans happen afterwards. Also the big Seraphim lords never actually show up in the game etc.

Eternia's plot and characters are pretty generic and the combat is done better in pretty much every later game (both 2D and 3D)
It's good but it's definitely not better than Vesperia or Abyss or even Xillia 2

If I put my characters in semi-auto, they can't move nor use any artes on L3. How the fuck can combo effectively with hidden artes and Kamui also? I wish they had stick to Xilla 2 gameplay, and fuck the equipment fusion. FUCK.
