The best parts of Air Gear were when the other members of Kogarasumaru were able to do cool shit on their own. Most shounen manga tend to forget about the support and have the main character become a completely overpowered superbeing who handles everything by themselves, whilst the rest of the cast just stands around in the background cheering on him (see Bleach or Naruto). Air Gear seemed to avoid that for a long part, though it did succumb to that curse in the end. Seeing Kazu go from complete scrub with no Gravity Child bullshit to Flame King by his own merit was very satisfying though.
On that note, still kinda pissed that Emily became completely irrelevant through the Omaha stuff right after she started to become an actual member of the team.
Also, Ringo a complete shit, Kururu should have won.
