I'm going to re-watch Evangelion now. 14 years have passed, that's exactly half my life.
I don't remember a single shit about this, except the following:
-Abusive father is cruel for no reason.
-Tsundere psycho asuka. She is ambitious
-Rei best girl (my 14yo opinion anyway). Actually one of several clones of bearded glasses creepy father's dead wife
-There is a penguin with a hat. The hat says "penguin"
-Classical music is used to enhance dramatic scenes. Good animation and direction. It's very good at making you feel uneasy
-Girl with long dark hair is a pervert and a bad example of an adult, and she knows. But it's not her fault, nobody is sane at all in this anime
-Plot was somewhat complicated and had christian symbols in it. It was about some lance and alien creatures or something. Duh.

When I was 14 I used to think it was amazing. It was very different from anything I ever watched.

Later I developed a weird form of hype aversion for everything suspected to be 2d4u
