I just finished the series. Wanting more I naturally watched the OVA that came after. I noticed some people saying it was lackluster. In the second half, Mao returns from college and is acting like a bitch and ignoring everyone. My theory on this begins in episode 9 where a segment on "playing doctor" is featured. Mao doesn't understand the subtext of the expression. She admits she's never engaged in the act. Everyone else acknowledges that they had. Kyolo gives her a disappointed look. Later in the OVA, she wanders to a playground, a place where children play. It's my belief that after going to college and leaving her sheltered life at home with her maid and realizing what she missed out on growing up made her bitter. She sits dejected on a see-saw alone, Kyolo sits on the other end and innocuously informs her that it takes two to play. I may be reading to much into this but I think it connects back to "playing doctor". She's taken aback of course. Perhaps this scene resounded with me because I'm in a similar situation.
