Anyway, my new job drains any motivation I had for reading manga. I have well over a hundred series in my ongoing list but bother reading the releases for just a couple.
Last new manga I picked up were some yuri titles:
>Ano Musume ni Kiss to Shirayuri o
It starts mediocre, but gets better quick whenever it's not focusing on the main couple. If only all the side characters interacted with each other more, it would really good. And somewhat unsurprisingly, it runs in the same seinen magazine as my favorite yuri manga, Sasameki Koto, yet again cementing my opinion that yuri manga running in actual yuri magazines are the worst type of yuri manga.
>Ganma
Pretty rough around the edges, but still rather good for a first effort by a new mangaka. Some of the themes were pretty interesting, and the romantic part of the yuri relationships was handled in a really nice casual way. Sadly, the physical part was really clumsily forced in where it didn't belong. If the mangaka did a little less of his planning with his dick, it would help his stories. Also not running in a yuri magazine.
>After Hours
It started pretty fresh, with two girls hooking up straight away and doing cute new couple things together. A few chapter in it became muddled with the usual angst and ambivalence of lots of "mature" yuri titles, but it still stands out above the majority of them. Strike 3 for 3 for not being from a yuri magazine.
>Ayame 14
This one is the only one that actually is from a yuri magazine, and by a well known yuri mangaka. I wasn't a fun of Amano Shuninta before, but this series is just bloody fucking hilarious. This is how you do dirty humor right. Also, shark teeth a best.
If you're not into yuri, Ayame 14 and Ganma are still worth reading, if you are, all of these series are worth a look.
