>>16386359There are exceptions, but it's usually a certain kind of guy who "falls in love" and spills out all of his feelings before any kind of sexual contact has taken place. It demonstrates a lack of understanding of what actually makes love/relationships work.
Too much "romance" can be smothering and high-pressure, when there's a confession like that, there's an expectation that you're supposed to tell him you love him too, or else he's disappointed and the moment is completely ruined. And it's kind of insane to ask a girl whether or not she's in love with you when you've barely even started the relationship.
Besides, a certain amount of anticipation and uncertainty can be a great thing. OP is "complaining," but she's also very excited about this thing, those unanswered questions are filling her head all day long. That excitement would be gone if her 19-year-old employee (bad idea by the way, OP) called her up all emotional and told her he loved her. It's like having a present wrapped up under a Christmas tree, wondering what it might be, and then the guy who got it for you just goes "It's shoes. See these shoes in this picture? That's what's in that present. That's what you're getting." Might be a nice pair of shoes, but it kind of sucks the fun out of it.
