URGENT HELP REQUIRED
Has anyone on /adv/ had OCD, anorexia or deppression? Has anyone helped someone who has?
My brother is crippling under all three. He is 25 years old. Had OCD since he was 14. Recently he has started to not eat properly. About 20 months ago he was 70kg. Now he only weighs barely 40kg. Will go 4 days at a time without eating, barely drinks any fluids. Whenever me or my parents try to talk to him, he just stares straight into space. Doesn't say anything. Doesn't even look at us.
He hasn't spoken to any specialist about his OCD despite the fact my parents have gotten many people for him to speak to.Whenever mental health nurses would come out he would talk to them and show he is functional, but he would never talk about the OCD, only everyday things.
He just lies in his bed all day, looking up at the ceiling, thinking. Been like this for the last few month. He seems completley cut off from life, as if he feels no desire to keep living. I really think he may die soon. 6'1 and only 40kg.
What do /adv/? How to get someone to engage? We cannot get him sectioned because of the crap UK mental health laws, which basically means as long as someone can talk they aren't sectionable.
Any help would be appreciated
