I have the exact same issue with my bf and Dota. I absolutely can't get into it. I want to, but I really just loathe having to play.

A middle ground suggestion that I would make is try to learn a little about league. That way you can at least understand what he's talking about when he might talk your ear off about it. Be supportive and listen, despite not wanting to play. Know at least what the characters do, some of the abilities, some of the items, terms, ect. Those help me actually talk back to my bf when he complains about stupid teams, and it makes him happy that I pay at least a little attention/sympathize.

Find some other things to do together, sexy times aside. See a movie or start watching a tv show together and bond over talking about it. Play another video game together that you both can agree on. Go out on a fun date somewhere. Remind him how awesome he is and how much you love him.

That's all I can really think of. Been with my man for eight and a half years, and all this helps!

League of Legends is the lowest of the low. People who play League of Legends regularly and nothing else, and have no other noteworthy hobbies, are in my opinion worthless.

I've played about 1000 games in League, so I know what I'm talking about. It's a fine game to play every once and a while with friends, I guess.

Good. There's hope yet for him. He's still playing league for two reasons.

Basically there are two options: Get into League with him, or wait for him to grow up.

A computer capable of running LoL of all things isnt exactly expensive. It should be easy to upgrade it sufficiently.

I play 1.6 and my GF plays tribes, although I love fast quake style shooters I hate the whole ski aspect and super open maps. She can't stand the close quarter sneaky insta kill shit so we just found a game that we could play together that is completely different. Worms brings everyone together, try that.

lol mate I used to play doom online, so yes I did play the quakes up to arena. I have no idea why you are waffling on about the source engine when I'm talking about 1.6, 1.6 is the goldsrc engine which is a modified quake engine.

I also used to play the original Unreal on COOP and do deathmatch before UT even became a thing, and starseige tribes even though I wasn't a massive fan as I preferred the closed arena style more.

I still stand by my point that 1.6 is one of the hardest online games, you simply cannot just run about spraying and praying, controlling recoil, listening out for sounds in the map, having such pin point accuracy all takes a high learning curve.
