So I hear American exports are high dollar items in Venezuela. Any truth to this? If so how would one go about making money in this venture?

Customs to and from Venezuela are a pain in the ass.

I ship things there for my work and have things shipped to me. Internationally, it's one of the most pain in the ass places I have to deal with.

It started before the drop in oil prices, with Maduro trying to stabilize availability of consumer goods with rigid price controls. I forget the details, but it's been going on for a couple of years or more at this point.
