My dad randomly got me football tickets for tomorrow as a birthday present. He bought the tickets already before telling me and while he said I could say no, i haven't yet. My mom thinks I should go because I don't get to spend a lot of time with him with my work and college.

Thing is....that's the exact reason I don't want to go. To start things off the team is terrible, they're like one of the worst teams in the league, and they will likely get blown out. We'll probably leave in thr 3rd quarter. Secondly I don't really like football. Thirdly, I have to call off work which is a pain in the ass and it just doesn't look good. I don't like to be one of "those" employees. I've been impressing my supervisors but they're tough and expect a lot from me.

And of course the main thing is I've been backed up with a ton of college work. I've got important assignments and essays to write and I simply just don't have time for a dumb football game.

/adv/. Wat do. Its true I don't see my dad and he's the type of person that would get upset and I hate to do that. And I'd piss my mom off. But my schoolwork is important. I'm trying to maintain a 4.0 GPA and it requires a lot of effort. I'm so conflicted.
