A few months ago when uni started, I met this girl at a nonchalant icebreaker. Ran into her again and we continued to keep in contact for weeks, eventually seeing each other every day. We watch movies together, hold deep conversations together, and seriously enjoy each other's company. There's only one issue: she's got a boyfriend. Wasn't a shock to me; as I knew from the beginning, but as we started getting closer it seemed more and more like there was a mutual attraction between us that neither of us wanted to admit. The "touch barrier" has been broken for a long time but not sexually. For a while she would sit there and talk about how she doesn't Have feelings for her bf anymore because of long distance and isn't sure what to do, but then magically after one weekend with him she all of a sudden "loves him" and is genuinely trying to rekindle it, and I'm being slowly but surely phased out by her (calls me "bro" every chance she gets, is less up for hanging out, etc;). I'm sick of sitting here in love with this girl and unable to do anything about it. I hate her boyfriend more than anyone I can remember and yet I've never even fucking met him. This sucks and I can't get away from these feelings. The reason for that is I keep getting that little bit of hope because he's moving even further away from her from a 1.5 to a 3 hour drive and my mind keeps thinking "oh it'll get better by then."
I'm sick of this endless realm of betaness and I'm not used to it. I can't get the feelings out and I truly need to. I know other girls are interested in me, but I just feel nothing for them and don't reciprocate so they lose interest. Help me get out of this cycle or figure out how to convince her to drop her boyfriend.
