Is this relationship OK?

hey guys

There's a girl in one of my classes. She's the daughter of one of my long-term teachers. I've had 3 of his classes so far for my undergrad, and by the time I'm done with my masters it's likely I'll have at least 3 more. He's the premier researcher in my field for the entire state.

I found out like 4 weeks into a random unrelated class that she was related to him. I was already really interested in her, she puts off a very intelligent vibe and is just distinctly more interesting than anyone else in the class. Anyway, when I made the connection that he was her daughter and talked to her about his classes she had a "he talks about you all the time!!!" kind of reaction. After that we got into more personal discussions during the time before classes and we realized we're also from the same town(we both commute an hour to college, so people who actually go to the university are far from us during our every day lives). Anyway, after finding this out, I sent her an email(yeah yeah) abusing the school's email system and asked if she wanted to get coffee this weekend to pass some time while I was out getting salvage wood for a project. I gave her a time frame and she responded positively and we set it up.

I went out on a date with her today. We met at a book store and walked around talking about literature for a really long time. We met at 3 for what was supposed to be quick coffee and at 5 and called to cancel her plans to stay with me for what ended up being another few hours. Seriously, just sat in a coffee shop/book store for 5 hours with this girl.

We don't agree on anything politically or philosophically or anything, but all the same we had really great conversations. She's smart, and that's hard to find.
