My girlfriend is in a deteriorating state of health that will eventuate in death in the long run, but until then, she will be more and more of a vegetable (she's okay now, but doctors say symptoms may start in another 10 years).

She's talking about getting married and having kids before she starts going downhill. I understand that and I support her but if i am honest with myself, we are quite young and this all feels like I'm throwing my life away. I don't want to be her carer.

I know this sounds terrible, but there is no nicer way of saying it.
