Do you have any advice for me regarding my mother very vehemently opposing my career choice?
Growing up I've always been very obedient and respectful of my parents wishes, but ever since moving out ~3 years ago, I've started to take a lot more independent action. It's been fine up until now, but my mother is very displeased with me, to the point where she refuses to answer my calls and uses her heart defect to guilt-trip me.
She says that she doesn't want to be even more worried about me than she already is and that I am an "insolent son" (Her words) for stressing her weak heart.
I don't want to become estranged from my mother, because she has been nothing but a saint to me while growing up, but at the same time this direction I am currently taking with my life is something I really want to do.
How the fuck do I handle this conversation?
