Learning Spanish

So I want to learn Spanish, but I want to the learn Spanish in the quickest and most effective way. I am Latin American, but live in the U.S. so I just never needed to learn Spanish, but I now that I really want to I don't know where is the best place to start.

Learn how to say "be" and "have".
Learn most commonly used words.
Talk with people in Spanish before you know the language. Don't give a damn about grammar now.
Ask million question like "how do you call this in Spanish?"

practice practice practice, speak to people as much as you can

What this anon said. I am Latin amerocan as well and when I was younger I had no interest in speaking the language so I naturally becane worse and worse. When I entered college and matured a bit I found some newfound appreciation for the language and just tackled it head on.

Speak as much as you can, specificlaly with family members if possible.

You're welcome. This actually works. Less than a few months (I live in a hispanic populated area) and I'm understanding what people are saying already.
