I always wanted someone who was carefree and very happy go lucky while still being realistic. I wanted this because I'm a very bitter person and I know I can relax if I had someone to do it with.
I found someone a couple years ago whom I love and loves me back. But slowly over the years I've noticed a change in them. They've become more and more calloused and locked away. This is a partial result of what they've been through but mostly it was my influence on them.
It's gotten to the point where they deliberately forget experiences, good or bad, just because they don't want to think about how things used to be and how everything is getting worse. Which makes it so they don't even notice what's happening and they believe this is how life always was for them.
They seem content enough because of this and I'm the only one who's bothered. Should I try and get past this and just understand people change? Or is there something I should and can do?
