Social anxiety/awkwardness

No.16395082 ViewReplyReportDelete
For a couple years now I've suffered from social anxiety and awkwardness. It's not major, I'm not the loser who doesn't say a word to anyone and sit in the corner, but it is definitely relavant. I get shaky when giving speeches, I'm uncomfortable around people I'm not familiar with, and it's hard for me to make deep bonds with women and my other friends. I've never really cared much about fixing it, but recently I started talking to this 9/10 girl who was smart, interesting, funny, etc. She was originally into me for my looks, but after a couple weeks of talking she gave me the "not looking for a relationship" speech. I'm pretty much 100% positive that it was because my awkward personality and that caused us not to be comfortable around one another. I'm basically over her, but I'm desperate to correct my social problems so I don't have to deal with it for the rest of my life. I want to be a confident and comfortable person. I'm very smart and decent looking I don't really have a reason to be awkward, I just am. Does anyone have any advice for overcoming awkwardness/anxiety or how to become a confident person in general? A link to a site that has advice on this sort of thing would be helpful too. Thanks for reading
