I broke up with my boyfriend of 2 years about a year ago. Multiple reasons - he would many times misunderstand what I said in conversation, he wasn't as outgoing as me (I like to go out at least 5 nights a week, he "was tired from work" and didn't like to stay out late most weeknights, and he looked at internet pornography after I expressly forbade him from doing so. In general, he made me really unhappy for a lot of reasons.
After we broke up, I had nowhere to go except my parents, and I refused to go there. So my ex- opened up a free room in his house and let me live there. It's about a year later, and I'm still stuck there. The problem is I'm getting insanely jealous of him.
Since we broke up he has stopped spending money on me. He's okay with me not paying rent so I can build up enough to move out, but he's expressly told me "It's pay your own way for everything else". This is an issue because he makes a lot more than me, so he'll ask if I want to go out with him to some nice restaurant, and I have to say no or break my budget.
He has also started having his own hobbies, while I've kind of gotten stuck in a rut. Before we broke up, we got gym memberships together. Over the last 6 months I've stopped going entirely, while he goes a minimum of 3 days a week and will not shut up about how much healthier he feels and how he wishes I could come along, too. He also is real big into working around the house. There are times I'll ask him to spend a lazy Sunday on the couch, but he'd rather be outside painting or planting a flower bed or who the heck knows.
