>>16401694There isn't anything inherently unhealthy in protein shakes. They are just protein or protein and carbs on some recovery shakes. Muscles need protein to grow. It doesn't really matter how you consume it but you need it to grow muscles. It's just more convenient to have something that's ready fast and provides decent amount of energy that can be consumed after hitting the gym. They don't make your muscles magically grow any more than just eating chicken breasts. It's just a convenience.
A normal diet is probably a bit healthier if you do it properly since you'll get other nutrients besides just the protein but then again as long as you don't live on only protein shakes it doesn't matter that much if one of your meals/snacks is a bit light everything that isn't protein.
