I was on vacation over the weekend and was given a uniform civil citation for underage possession of alcohol. I wasn't drinking, but I did have a few sips of beer, which I confessed to. I was a passenger in a golf cart that my drunk friend ran off the road into a ditch. There was a unopened bottle of beer on the cart in a compartment under the seat. My friend is swearing up and down that this won't go on my record. Should I hire an attorney to handle this? This is my first offense.
