Is there a way to check if my credit card has been used to reserve a hotel room?

Long, dumb story short, I think I booked a room at a hotel, then I immediately found another one that was cheaper, so I booked that too. The thing is, there haven't been any confirmation/reminder e-mails from the first hotel, and I called the hotel I thought I reserved at and they said I'm not on file. I may have reserved at another but I'm not sure.
