I am really into science and quantum physics and technology, but my girlfriend is actually anti-technological progress and says "it doesn't matter anyway" and that theoretical questions "are pointless and don't help anyone." When I told her about the Fermi paradox her response was "God," which while always a possibility is not an appropriate response to a scientific question. I have no problems with religion and am actually somewhat religious myself, but when religion gets in the way of technological or intellectual progress it is not helping anyone. What should I do? Should I stay with her and hope she gets less anti-science or should I end things now and find someone smarter?
