Offer. They won't be offended. If they're proud, do it without asking and just tell them "I've spoken to your landlord and I've paid the rent for the next 6 months so you don't have to worry about it" or something like that.

that's horrible but sadly it happens to almost everybody as we get older

sure you can help your parents some but what about yourself ?

really you need to save your own $$ FIRST and ALWAYS

maybe some extra back to your folks but in a few years they will be dead no matter what you do and you will still be alive trying to pay the rent pay for food utilities car etc

I literally saved $22k this year, just out of school so i am set. Not to mention even if i just gave them all of that, would only mean I am set back 1 year financially

no if you give that $20k away you lose both the $20k now and the $500k that would grow into after 20 years when you invest it in something safe like a mutual fund

They're your parents man. Whether their pride takes over or not just do it. They supported you, your whole life(just a guess idk your life). If my dad was in a bad spot I would give him every spare cent I didn't need regardless his stance on it or not. Your a good guy for caring about your family. Props.

but that is what parents are supposed to do - take care of their kids - and kids are supposed to take care of their kids and so on

remember this line 5-10-15-20 years from now when if something bad happens to you and surprise you can't work for 3 years becayse of car wreck illness injury whatever

but this is a common topic and common problem for kids dealing with their aging parents

and note this problem did not exist 50 years ago because people got old got sick and died much faster but nowadays modern medicine can prolong suffering, er, life for a very long time assuming that somebody pays for it
