However, I was in your shoes once. I moved on and got rid of a few 'friends' from my childhood days. Ironically enough, my childhood bully was the best out of all of them. Of course, not all of my friends have been killed off, for this one friend still genuinely cares to listen and give input on his days.
My point is OP, you can cope if you meet new people and deal with their stories and whatnot. I know for a fact that getting into college changed me right quickly, and now I'm a fucking butterfly. 35,000 people just do that to you. Keep in mind, I was in a school of 150 people.
Get more communication, don't go too personal, and enjoy new sets of friends.
