I'm a geology major planning on graduating in May 2017, and I'm currently at a 2.8-2.9. I may be able to bring it up to or slightly above a 3.0 by the time I graduate, but let's assume I don't so I can gauge the situation I may find myself in.

Am I SOL? Most grad schools and internships have 3.0 requirements.

What should/can I do before/after graduation?

Make yourself as employable as possible. You have a year and a half, get some relevant work experience or do some extra credit stuff. Volunteer for the geology society or other relevant clubs. Fill your resume with shit that makes you look good.

People with 2.0 gpas have gotten jobs, you might just need to get a certificate or something and grit your teeth with a shitty job for 2 years, after that point no one gives a fuck about your GPA
