Hi /adv/, I need your help. I think I'm showing signs of male pattern baldness,

The real shitty part is I'm only 18. My dad always told me he went bald by the time he was 19 or 21, I can't remember which, so this doesn't bode well for me

what are the ramifications for me going bald? If I AM going bald, at what point should I shave it all off?

That's what I plan on doing. I'm very broad as it is and have a strong jaw, so if/when/once I start working out full time I'm sure I won't look 100% like shit. I'm practically built to be a bear (gay and all) so at least this won't be the complete end of me.

It's still a shock though going bald so young, I really like my hair and take care of it. I always hoped that I wouldn't go bald but if it's happening it's happening. You can't fight genetics.

I think I'll hold on to the hair until it starts becoming apparent that it's thinning. I'm lucky enough that the receding is hidden by my bangs (Shit, I didn't even realize it was until a day or two ago) and I can rustle the back of my head so it hides that receding.

But once it's noticeable, goodbye hair.

I plan on going to a dermatologist sometime soon to get the final verdict

Never listen to those faggots who say "JUST SHAVE IT AND HIT THE GYM BRUH." It's 2015 and there are plenty of ways to preserve your hair if that's what you wish to do.

Honestly you might even have longer. My hair was like yours when I was about 18. This is me at 28 now. I've still got a few more years. Dude I even have grey hairs coming in. Probably got a couple dozen right now. I don't let any of it bother me. Everything else in my life is good. It's just hair. It's not gonna dictate my overall happiness because it can't. b-b-but muh girls. Some girls don't care if you have everything else going for you.

Besides being bratty, moody,and just plain ignorant bitches, younger women are shallow as fucking hell. Women aren't any good if they're younger than about 25, because it takes a good quarter century for them to realize that the world does not in fact revolve around them.

That being said, I'm dating a younger guy who started balding at 20, and his hairline has receded quite a bit in the 3 years we have dated. I always tell him, and genuinely feel, that his hair is not a problem for me. It's just hair for god's sake. If HE wants a hair transplant or Rogaine to feel better about himself, I'll get him the money. But for me, I could not care less about his hair or his weight or whatever else people want to obsess about. I like spending time with him. How much hair he does or doesn't have has absolutely no bearing over that. And even with less hair now, I still think he's just as cute as he was years ago.

You just need something like that, and fuck what anyone else thinks.

My friend started balding at 21 but started one of those expensive hairloss treatments and his hair grew back like newborn baby hair. It was so soft and weird to start with but now he's 25 and still on the treatment and his hair is normal.
