My job's background check company found a discrepancy in my resume. It turns out I didn't actually graduate from college since I failed a class my senior year. Thing is I didn't know when I submitted my resume. I attended the graduation ceremony, shook the dean's hand, got a little folder that says "your resume will arrive in the mail" and forgot about it for a month or two.

What are the chances of them not firing me if I explain that? I didn't lie to them, I just wrote down the wrong thing out of ignorance. Plus I can literally fix my lack of degree in a single online course.
