>>16406502Racism for the sake of it is a bad thing. Being upset about the fate of so many people is a good thing.
BUT....
Where his racism is perhaps poorly targeted your sympathy may also be poorly targeted.
The uncontrolled, uncoordinated mass migration of a nation holding alien customs and beliefs is frought with peril for the countries talking these people.
Normal migration is by people who have done research and who desire to build a better life, in a country they respect and admire for it's values and opportunities.
Mass evecuation and mass relocations are completely different. These are not people who have researched a new life, who are filled with hope and respect for a new country.
Genuine refugees are traumatised and require massive assistance to help them adapt and resettle. Often they assimilate and become happy, productive members of their adoptive country.
Mass relocations include many bitter, angry people who are looking to blame someone for their plight. Many of them (the majority) are fleeing for economic reasons - the belief that rich western nations are over flowing with money they can use to buy their way back into the country they came from.
Mass relocations that predominately contain people with vastly different customs and values nearly always have short and long term problems that deeply impact broader society.
So although his racism is wrong your wish to help them may also be ill considered. You're probably both wrong but too ignorant to work out a compromise.
