You will feel bad, but there's no clean way to do it. If you do it in person, she'll probably try to attack you, or your car.
I know how dickheaded it is, but girls with problems will not let you leave if you do it in person. You have to tell yourself you don't deserve to be a caretaker your entire life. It's sad, but you have a right to your own life. Say something online or over the phone and cut off contact.
And watch the fuck out. If she knows where you live, she'll at least THINK of doing some crazy shit.
