First time posting here, maybe someone that has dealt with relatives with drinking problems could help me out.
Ever since I was young my mom's has had a habit of coping with stress by drinking, things like fighting with my father, someone dying, the usual stuff. However I never thought it was a problem cause it happened like 3 times a month. Aren't alcoholics supposed to be drunk most of the time?
Recently though, she has gone pick up my younger sister from middle school while tipsy/drunk. There isn't much I can do other than tell my sister not to get in the car if she notices, but she's worried about "causing drama". it has happened 5 times already.
Each time she promises that it won't happen again, the first few times I just got pissed and yelled at her, then I just talked to my sister about it. but this last time I really couldn't stand it and just told her to shove it up her ass when she repeated the same promise for the 5th time. I've been fuming for the past 4 days because I can't think of a good reason why you would drink before picking up your daughter when you know there's no one else to do it.
I just got off the phone with her and asked her if there really wasn't anything else she wanted to say, I started tearing up when she said I was blowing it out of proportion and hung up.
What should I do if she won't even admit that what she did was wrong? I really want to forgive her but I don't know how.
