so the type of girls i go after are the shy nerdy girls because i can relate to them more being a shy nerd myself.
but every time i try to talk to them and ask them out they are always uninterested in me.
why is this?

I think they have really specific tastes.

I've noticed quirky girls walking around campus that doing funny little things as they walk and I'm instantly into for no good reason. And they aren't terribly good looking or anything.

I always thought that if I'm kind of nerdy in a sense and have pretty specific tastes (like the ones you're describing) then it's hard to find a match who also has likely just as specific tastes too.

They're more focused on their studies and being successful. These girls won't be interested til they're around 30 or older.

Also, some people realize they're assholes so they keep their mouths shut until solicited. This can be mistaken for shy.
